artist statement

The main theme of my work is about the desire and the longing for the perfect something/somebody that one can have and the impossibility to obtain what you are craving for. In some projects this theme is more leading than in others, but it’s always there.

The models I prefer to work with have a natural look and have something that appeals to me that I long to capture either in photography or film.

With that I’m not referring to the ‘standard of beauty’ it can be something that I see in their faces, a certain awkwardness or unrevealed beauty, a spark of melancholy I see in their eyes or the way they show a certain vulnerability etc.

To achieve the best creative results I prefer to work on small sets, with little as possible people walking around. When it comes to make-up, I like a very natural look and therefore very light or no make-up at all.
